Our Services

Haven House NWI provides emergency shelter and support services for domestic violence survivors and their children in Northwest Indiana and surrounding areas.

All services are FREE of charge to the survivor and their children and include:

Emergency Shelter

Haven House is a domestic violence shelter that provides temporary emergency shelter for domestic violence survivors and their children.

Crisis intervention and support services

Shelter staff are available 24/7 to assist survivors with crisis intervention and referrals.

Referrals for mental health and medical services for shelter residents and their children are provided.

Case Management and Advocacy

Shelter staff provide case management, assist in setting short and long-term goals, and offer advocacy services for survivors.

Our Parent-Child Advocate works closely with parents and children in shelter, providing groups on parenting and healthy communication.

Life Skills Groups

Life skills groups are offered to assist survivors in becoming independent and self-sufficient away from their abuser. Topics include safety planning, nutrition, art therapy/arts and crafts, self care, domestic violence education, healthy relationships and effective communication.
